As a founding member and Co-Chair for the first two years of the Women's Leadership Initiative, she played a key role in increasing female membership by 25% in the first year alone. Through leadership luncheons, networking mixers, the Boardroom After Dark series, and the Professional Development Series, WLI provides unique programming for women professionals from a variety of fields and sectors, including developers, elected and appointed officials, land use attorneys, transportation experts, health professionals, and policymakers. The Commission has the powers and duties prescribed by city ordinance and state statute, including Planning and Zoning law, the Subdivision Map Act, and CEQA. The Planning Commission is designated as the board of permit appeals for decisions of the zoning administrator and is the board of zoning adjustment. She also represented the Planning Commission on the AARP Age-Friendly Advisory Committee, which provide guidance around the development of the Age-Friendly Action Plan for the City of West Sacramento, one of the first three AARP Age-Friendly Communities in California.

Mayor Steinberg of Sacramento and Mayor Cabaldon of West Sacramento recognized how critical it is to prepare for the impacts of climate change in our region, including rising temperatures, droughts, fires, and floods. To inform the work of the Commission, several Technical Advisory Committees (TACs) have been established, focusing on Built Environment, Mobility, and Community Health & Resiliency, as well as a new TAC on Finance. Each TAC, comprised of technical experts and community leaders, developed and presented recommendations for the Commission to consider.

Amigos de las Americas seeks to inspire and build young leaders through collaborative community development and immersion in cross-cultural experiences. The organization prepares teens and young adults for full-immersion cultural exchange and community services projects in Latin America. The Sacramento-Davis Chapter launched the Backyard Program in 2014. This program aims to provide the support and training necessary for young people to identify and respond to opportunities to enhance social equity in their community with the dual goals of youth development and cross-cultural learning.
Amigos de las Americas seeks to inspire and build young leaders through collaborative community development and immersion in cross-cultural experiences. The organization prepares teens and young adults for full-immersion cultural exchange and community services projects in Latin America. The Sacramento-Davis Chapter launched the Backyard Program in 2014. This program aims to provide the support and training necessary for young people to identify and respond to opportunities to enhance social equity in their community with the dual goals of youth development and cross-cultural learning.

Alchemist CDC's mission is to support Sacramento area residents in their efforts to create vibrant, healthy, and diverse communities. Key projects include administering CalFresh (food stamps) at Farmers Markets and coordinating the Urban Farm Stand at a variety of neighborhoods, including Alkali Flat, Del Paso Heights, McClatchy Park, and Bryte & Broderick.
